Trigger-Point
Trigger-Point therapy is a technique that involves applying pressure to specific tender spots in muscle tissue. This technique can relieve pain and dysfunction in different parts of the body.
The object is to eliminate pain and train the muscles into pain free habits. By doing this, range of motion is increased, swelling and stiffness of neuromuscular pain is reduced, and flexibility and coordination are improved.
Trigger-Point therapy is best known to relieve chronic headaches, joint pains, low back aches, sciatica, and gluteal pain. Trigger-point therapy has been used to help with rotator cuff problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, whiplash injuries, and thoracic outlet syndrome. Not to mention, it has been reported to alleviate numbness and tingling in the extremities.
